What? more trees?

Drawing and writing about trees!

Our tree collage

Ash class hard at work creating our beautiful tree collage from our tree rubbings/watercolour washes! Using the rubbings created so much texture and colour to our tree.

Inquiring about trees - more!

Ash class came up with questions about trees and leaves  and created their own surveys. They asked their friends their questions to filled out their survey to find out more information about what they liked.
Some children explored painting their own tree at the easel. We had some Claude Monet art up at the centre for inspiration.
After collecting leaves, the children made leaf rubbings of their own using block beeswax crayons.

We decided to make one big tree together using our tree rubbing/watercolour washes. We ripped them up into small pieces for our collage.

Inquiring about trees

Ash class have been inquiring about trees this Fall. We have been exploring trees in the yard and on walks, looking at their colours, textures, size, branches, trunks and leaves. We have also been learning lots about trees through books in the classroom and some children also went home to research questions they had.
